Ray Ma, co-founder of Honest Dumplings, blends traditional Chinese culinary art with modern innovation. Born and raised in Shanghai, China, Ray developed a deep appreciation for rich authentic flavours and artisanal foods from a young age. Her educational background in law and entrepreneurial spirit brought her to Edmonton, where she obtained her Master of Laws degree and later saw an opportunity to introduce gourmet innovative Chinese foods to a wider audience.
In 2014, Ray and her husband, Chris launched Honest Dumplings, a brand dedicated to creating artisanal dumplings using quality ingredients and unique inspired flavours. Over the last decade, the company has grown into a beloved brand known for its unique and delicious flavours that blend traditional recipes with contemporary twists.
In 2018, Honest Dumplings merged with another beloved local brand, South Island Pie. Together, their dedication to sharing the joy of creative quality food with the world and their contributions to the culinary community have earned him recognition and admiration.
